Gourmia GCM4700 Coffeemaker Review

What’s special about the Gourmia GCM4700? For starters, it’s a coffee maker with a built-in grinder. It means it’s ideal for people who love grinding their roasted beans just before they make themselves a cup. Plus, fresh grounds taste better and richer.

But the bigger question is, should you buy the Gourmia GCM4700? What are its pros and cons? Let’s find out in this Gourmia GCM4700 coffeemaker review.

Key Features of the Gourmia GCM4700

Here are the key features of this coffeemaker.

Grind and Brew

The Gourmia GCM4700 is considered a “grind-and-brew” coffee machine. Put in roasted beans in the roasting compartment, push some buttons, and wait for it to finish its job.

But make no mistake. This coffee machine is compatible with both ground coffee and coffee beans. The coffee grinder is also removable, and it holds up to 60 grams of coffee.

What kind of grinder does it have? This coffee machine has a built-in blade grinder.

The control panel is located above the coffee pot. It’s not the most modern of coffeemaker panels, but it has an LED display to display your preferences, and it’s equipped with hard-to-miss silver buttons.

Here are the buttons and functions to expect.

First, the Gourmia GCM4700 comes with a timer feature. That means you can easily program it to automatically start grinding and preparing your coffee beverages anytime you want. There’s a clock on the LED display, and you can adjust the time by using the “Hour” and “Minute” buttons.

Aside from those, expect to see the “Grind” and “Brew” buttons.

Other Features

There are three important features that you’d definitely be excited about. One, the GCM4700 has a water level indicator, a keep-warm function, and an auto shut-off after 40 minutes.

Consumer Feedback

In this section of our Gourmia GCM4700 coffeemaker review, we present the feedback given by previous buyers about this coffee machine. In summary, here are its pros and cons.

Pros and Cons

  • The built-in grinder is truly a plus, but because it’s a blade grinder, there are disadvantages compared to having a burr grinder. For instance, blades tend to produce heat, which can affect the quality of the resulting coffee grounds and beverage.
  • Several people have complained that it’s messy to use this machine.
  • When it comes to ease of cleanup, there are conflicting feedback. However, it’s interesting to note that several people have had issues with coffee grounds being hard to clean especially from the grinder.

Limitations and Other Comments

The Gourmia GCM4700 is not a perfect coffee machine. Here’s a list of the limitations of this product.

  • There is no function or button to vary the strength of the brew. But if you want a stronger fix, you can simply add more coffee.
  • There is no “pause-and-serve” feature. That means you have to wait until the process is over. Good news, though, is that the grind-and-brew system is a one-step process. Meaning, you don’t have to push separate buttons to grind and brew your coffee.
